After two successful collaborations on Route 33, Pawel Kobak has recorded the original version of “Sphinx” in Barcelona with Maria Angeli. The great work supplied by Stockholm based Poland native deep house maestro, and the charismatic skilful Italian singer who is established in London, resulted in an awesome song with strong emotion.
“Sphinx” becomes even stronger when post-produced for club action by Kobak himself (club mix & club dub) and it will have a wider sight over different kinds of dance-floors with the help of some effective remixes by Manuel Perez, DJ Mourad and Raph Dumas.
The old-school flavour of this recording reminds of a time when vocal house was not as formatted as today,. With perfectly arranged and beautiful string-pads, captivating vocals, hooky stabs, hypnotic percussion and rich drum-beat, “Sphinx” is a song to remember as much as a floor killer when dropped in a funky house DJ set.
